Parking

You no longer have to search for a parking place at WPVH. Our brand new recently paved lot, off of Bennett Avenue, will accomodate more than enough cars. It is well suited to all vehicles. Handicapped parking is in the area just off Bennett Avenue along the side of the hospital.

Reception

Friendly, caring receptionists will greet you and your pet in our comfortable and spacious lobby area. You and your pet can sit comfortably while awaiting admission into our boarding area or exam rooms. Please remember to always bring your pet in a cage, carrier, or on a lead. This is for their safety as well as the safety of other patients.

Exam Rooms

Our facility includes 6 full-service exam rooms that are clean, comfortable, and cozy. In these rooms, the doctors perform comprehensive physical examinations. Then the doctors, along with our veterinary technicians, provide you with information to optimize your pet's health. With our exotic patients, doctors often find their comprehensive physical exams less stressful if they are completed in our treatment area.

Pharmacy

Our pharmacy is carefully planned to enable our doctors to have medications readily available for your pet's immediate needs. We also carry preventive medications to meet your pet's specific situation and to help them live a healthy, happy life.

Treatment

The treatment area is well-equipped to handle medical emergencies which might arise for your pet or routine medical procedures including laboratory work, bandage changes, bird grooming, etc. The treatment room is centrally located so technicians can easily observe patients that are in critical condition or pets recovering from surgery. The location allows us to respond to any patient's immediate needs with equipment or medications close at hand.

Laboratory

Winter Park Veterinary Hospital has a fully operational laboratory, which allows us to get fast results about your pet's condition. Our technicians fully utilize the laboratory and are trained in exotic animal laboratory methods as well as cats and dogs. This greatly reduces wait time and helps the doctors diagnose illnesses in less time than waiting for outside lab results. When necessary, we have several referral labs that assist us with specialized tests not commonly performed in our hospital.

State of the Art - Digital Radiology

If x-rays are needed for our doctors to make a diagnosis, we are equipped with the latest in digital radiology to provide the best possible images. We also have a wireless laptop for our doctors to bring into the exam room which allows them to discuss the results with you as you view the radiographs. You may also view the digital radiograph images on your home computer. Within our radiology unit we are also equipped with digital dental radiology to help our doctors in the diagnosis of periodontal disease.

Endoscope

This state of the art medical system increases our doctors' diagnostic capabilities. Endoscopy can also aid in surgical procedures often reducing the size of incisions significantly. With an endoscope we are able to perform procedures with exotic pets that often cannot be completed using conventional surgical methods.

Laser

Winter Park Veterinary Hospital has offered Laser Surgery for several years. The Laser has revolutionized certain surgical procedures like cat declawing. The Laser decreases blood loss, reduces the possibility of infection, decreases pain and increases the speed of healing. Overall, in almost all surgical situations it is the best alternative for your pet.

Choice rooms

These are our choice rooms. These rooms are smaller than the platinum rooms, but they have the convenience of being up off of the floor to keep your pet clean and dry. They are climate controlled, indoors, clean, odor-free, and very nice. All of the dogs receive some of the best bedding we offer and all at a very reasonable price.

Play and Walk Areas

During your pet's stay they will have the opportunity to go into our play fields and have fun. They have room for running, jumping or catching the ball. Each dog is walked twice a day in our spacious walk and play areas. If you choose our presidential package, they are walked three times a day and have an oppurtunity for playtime with their individual animal care specialist.

Platinum Rooms

Platinum rooms are indoors, climate controlled, and generally in one special area. They are also very spacious and have a fold down bed. If your pet does not arrive with their own bedding, we provide mats and bedding to keep them comfortable.

The Cats Meow

When your feline friend comes to stay with us in the Cats Meow, they receive a variety of benefits. First of all, we feed premium food and provide the very best bedding and litter boxes. If your cat admires an outdoor view, we can arrange their visit in a cage with a window. We even prevent boredom by having play and exploration time in our Feline Recreation Area. All in the comfort of the Cats Meow.

Feline Recreational Area

A wonderful enrichment tool used to intrigue restless cats while staying at the Cats Meow. You can request that your cat have some time to play and explore in this area.

All Creatures Inn

When your special pet comes to stay with us, they will have many of the same ammenities as our cat and dog guests. This includes play and exercise time. From rabbits to reptiles, chinchillas to canaries, the All Creatures Inn is their home away from home.

Food Preparation

Ummmm Ummmm Dinner! This is where you pet's food will be prepared every morning and evening. We serve Science Diet Maintenance and/or Science Diet Sensitive Stomach to all our guests. If your pet is on a special diet, feel free to package your pet's food in individual bags for each feeding and bring it along. In addition, we have snacks in the morning and treats in the afternoon. We will take care of all the dietary needs of your special companion.

Pet Cubbies

When your pet comes to stay at The Winter Park Pet Place, they get their own cubbie to store any extra goodies they brought with them. Bringing goodies from home helps them feel more at home away from home. The cubbies also aid the staff to make sure that when you pick up your pet, all their goodies go home with them.

Bathing Area

Many of our guest choose to have a bath before going home. That is where our bathing area comes into play. We use the most advanced shampoos in the veterinary field. We also perform medicated baths as prescribed by our doctors when necessary. Even our feline guests can benefit from bathing. Our special bathing control device delivers the exact of amount of shampoo for your pet and then rinses them thoroughly. Our guests also enjoy a pedicure, ear cleaning, blow dry, and comb out. Good News! Your pet can come in just for bathing. Either way, they'll feel like they're getting the spa treatment!

Grooming Area

After a relaxing and soothing bath, we take the animals to our grooming area where they experience a professional blow dry with either warm or cool air.(depending on the animal's preference.) Then our staff works with your pet's coat to remove any mats and make it as beautiful as possible.

Laundry Room

We pride ourselves at WPVH on having an amazingly clean and proper facility. However, occasionaly accidents do happen and that is where our laundry room comes in. If perhaps an animal cannot wait to go outside and does their business in the cage, our laundry room is fully equipped to return the bedding fresh and clean in no time.

Professional Cleaning System

In rare instances when a dog cannot wait until he gets outside to use the bathroom, we are fully equipped with this state-of-the-art professional cleaner. It combines the power of a pressure washer,the strengh of Kennel-sol, and the cleaning power of steam to get your pet's cage clean and disinfected quickly. Nothing on the market is better.
